WhO is a DSACT Ambassador?

DSACT Ambassadors are 16-35 year-old DSACT members with Down syndrome who serve as role models and leaders in the Down syndrome community. Ambassadors have mature, friendly behavior with the ability to greet others verbally or through other means. They are able to work at a social event without parent supervision and with some adult supervision. They are well-groomed and serve as role models in the Down syndrome community, and as ambassadors to the Central Texas community.

DSACT Ambassadors also participate in DSACT-sponsored activities throughout the year. In representing DSACT, they commit to community service and participate in service activities at DSACT events. Dates for these activities are planned well in advance to ensure maximum Ambassador participation. DSACT Ambsassadors are expected to form and promote a Buddy Walk team to raise funds for DSACT.

DSACT Ambassadors also have opportunities throughout the year to participate in print and video media opportunities. Participation in these activities is voluntary.
